Prabhupada created ISKCON as an institution for all his disciples so that they can work together to spread Krishna Consciousness together. Through it we have all facilities (temples, ashrams, kitchen etc.) to live together in peace and communion so we can practical understand what it means to be a devotee of the Lord.
But now many are still leaving the institution for many understandably reasons. Many fractions are created outside of ISKCON but also there they are fighting with each other. So…
How can we have real unity, friendship and community together? Is there somebody that can show us how we can live and cooperate with each other in Krishna Consciousness besides Prabhupada also?
Jayananda is and was this example of cooperation, love and the humblest devotee of Prabhupada. If we follow His perfect disciple we can have real communion in our community.
„Jayananda’s death is glorious. It is very good that he had stated, what is the use of such a useless body, better to give it up. He has left his body very wonderfully, and he has been transferred to Vaikuntha. I have already sent a condolence letter for publication in Back To Godhead. Everyone should follow the example of Jayananda. I am very proud that I had such a nice disciple (Letter to Ramesvara, dated May 11, Delhi)
Because of this he is considered as a siddha in ISKCON, every year we celebrate his disappearance and also his picture should – according to our Acharya Srila Prabhupada – be hang up in every Ratha Yatra Car. Prabhupada thought always on his pure devotee Jayananda.
Jayananda Thakur made his own notes in the jacket of his Krishna book in a list in point form:
“As your begin to apply the book’s clearly described principles to your life you will quickly experience a new realm of mental poise and experience an inner happiness even in the midst of the most trying circumstances.
You will worry less and enjoy more. Your power of concentration, memory, understanding and creativity will increase. You will work more energetically, more confidently, and efficiently, as well as relate better to people.
And you will succeed more easily at whatever you try doing. At night you will fall asleep immediately and in the morning you will awaken thoroughly refreshed with even less hours of sleep than you more normally need. Consequently you will understand the real purpose of your life and your unique role in creation.”
