“If one is disobeying the spiritual master, he cannot remain in the pure status of life. He cannot be siksa-guru or anything else. He is finished, immediately.”
(Srila Prabhupada Lecture, 4/7/74)
The international organization ISKM claims to distribute the original teachings of Prabhupada. Head of the organization is Sundar Gopal who served as ISKCON temple president before splitting away with his new rtvik organization.
He’s referring to the July 9th letter to defend his position to be a self appointed Rtvik siksa guru. But his name is not in the letter nor he was appointed.
Sundar Gopal Prabhu was initiated by Prabhupada and received letter stating that. There he read his spiritual name and received beads with this letter but never met Prabhupada personally. Prabhupada tried to come to Singapore but was never allowed to enter the country.
So his letter was a initiation letter but for sure not a authorization. So where he get his authorized to act as rtvik, as a deputy for Prabhupada!? Nowhere is anything to find !
Changing Prabhupada’s teachings through own interpretation
“Reception of spiritual knowledge is never checked by any material condition.”
On their website it is stated (the content from IA77 position paper Version 1.0) :
“Initiation or dīkṣā is the formal acceptance of spiritual vows by the prospective disciple as mandated by a bona fide spiritual master. It is the most important of the ten reformatory processes prescribed for human life. It is formally conducted as a ceremony wherein the spiritual master formally accepts the devotee as his disciple and guides him on the path back to Godhead.”
“[…] the ceremony formalises or solidifies the agreement between the master and the disciple and is therefore equally important. Śrīla Prabhupāda himself introduced us to this standard system of paramparā. […]”
How can diksa itself be a formality at all!? Prabhupada’s answers clears everything:
“Well, initiation or no initiation, first thing is knowledge… knowledge. Initiation is formality. Just like you go to a school for knowledge, and admission is formality. That is not very important thing.”
“Diksa is the process by which one can awaken his transcendental knowledge and vanquish all reactions caused by sinful activity. A person expert in the study of the revealed scriptures knows this process as diksa.”
(Cc., Madhya-lila, 15.108)
“Diksa actually means initiating a disciple with transcendental knowledge by which he becomes freed from all material contamination.”
(Cc., Madhya-lila, 4.111)
In this online available Initiations After 1977 (IA77) position paper PDF they used the unauthorized cantos, written and edited by Hridayananda Das Goswami. They are citing many times from this unauthorized versions of Srimad Bhagavatam of the Cantos 10 and 11.
“Unless one is empowered by the higher authorities, or advanced devotees, one cannot write transcendental literature, for all such literature must be above suspicion, or, in other words, it must have none of the defects of conditioned souls, namely mistakes, illusions, cheating and imperfect sense perceptions.”
(Cc., Adi-lila, 8.72)
Also Sundar Gopal is always citing from the unauthorized cantos (HD Goswami versions) as seen here:
“A realized soul, must be. […] My purports are liked by people because it is presented as practical experience. […] They are not ordinary… One cannot become unless one is very realized. It is not A-B-C-D translation.”
(Srila Prabhupada, Meeting with the GBC, 28/5/77)
Introducing changed books as the standard in the movement
Prabhupāda: He’s a rascal. That’s… He’s finding out guru and job for filling the belly. That is the latest news.
Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: What is he doing?
Prabhupāda: To find out some job to fill up the belly. Otherwise he’ll starve if he doesn’t get any job. And he’s finding out guru. Job guru. Now do the needful. Otherwise everything will be spoiled. These rascal editorial… That Easy Journey, original, this [indistinct] Hayagrīva has changed so many things.
In the organization it is also common to distribute and to lecture from unauthorized books like the yellow gita, the unauthorized cantos and also from unreliable internet sources (see the pictures). The emails that they are sending out to their followers are programming them slowly but surely to accept all the changes that FISKCON is producing.
In the video they are demonstrating this bogus lecturing from bogus yellow Gita version:
If one is speaking out he will be demonized in their emails and kick out if he is spreading still “hatred”. Istagosthi has no place instead their foundation relies on lies.
On the festivities like Ratha Yatra they are distributing changed books from BBTI instead to push only the original BBT Books. To my knowledge most of them are original books, but many are the unauthorized changed books.
In the video you also see that they are celebrating an Hindu costum, known as New Years celebration. This is also a clear deviation from Prabhupadas teachings
Devotees have nothing to do with this kind of festivities as Prabhupada clears up in an early letter to his disciple Pradyumna Prabhu:
“Ramacandra’s victory celebration is observed in the last day of Durga Puja. Vaisnavas are not concerned with Durga Puja. Dipavali or Devali is observed as new years day by certain mercantile community. The Vaisnavas have nothing to do with this ceremony but just on the last day after Devali the Vaisnavas observe Annakuta ceremony. This celebration is the day when Lord Krishna lifted the hill & Madhavendra Puri established the temple in Gopala.“
Letter to: Pradyumna – Calcutta (17 October, 1967)
Also on a fair in Singapore were changed books sold for profit besides original books
“One should accept the instructions of the Supreme Personality of Godhead by bowing down at the lotus feet of the Lord. This means that anything spoken by the Personality of Godhead should be taken as it is, with great care and attention and with great respect. It is not our business to amend the words of the Supreme Personality of Godhead or make additions or alterations, as it has become a custom for many so-called scholars and swamis who comment on the words of Bhagavad-gita. Here the practical example of how to accept the instruction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is shown by Prthu Maharaja. This is the way to receive knowledge through the parampara system.” (Purport SB 4.20.17)
